At our practice, your safety is one of our highest priorities. Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures help us reduce the risk of infections spreading within the surgery and protect both patients and staff.
We regularly clean all clinical rooms, equipment, waiting areas, and frequently touched surfaces using approved cleaning products. Examination couches and clinical curtains are cleaned and replaced in line with national guidance.
Our staff clean their hands before and after every patient contact using soap and water or alcohol hand gel. Hand sanitiser is also available throughout the practice for patients and visitors.
When needed, staff wear appropriate PPE such as gloves, aprons, masks, or eye protection to help prevent the spread of infection.
All reusable equipment is cleaned between patients, and single-use items are safely disposed of after use.
We follow national NHS and UK Health Security Agency guidance to manage infections safely. Patients with symptoms of infectious illnesses may be asked to wear a mask or be seen in a different area when appropriate.
Infection prevention is everyone’s responsibility. By working together, we can help keep our practice safe for patients, visitors, and staff.
If you would like more information about our IPC procedures, please speak to a member of the practice team.
We have an annual statement for Infection Control that outlines our approach and infection control advice to patients. Please click this link to read the annual statement.
