Partnership Change
We are pleased to announce that from April, Dr Tom Rockell and Dr Peter Menear will be joining the partnership. Having joined the practice in August last year, they have fitted into our team, and been welcomed by our patients. We are very excited that in contrast to the challenges seen with recruitment across the country, we have managed to attract younger GPs, who want to join us and provide the style of care that we strive for, for as long as we can.
However at the same time, Dr Emerson and Dr Drury, have decided to step away from their management roles, and retire from the partnership. The good news is that neither feel it is time to hang up their stethoscopes (not that we’d allow them to in any case), and both will continue looking after their patients, with fewer other commitments. We are in the enviable position that we will not lose their experience and wisdom, although there may be some changes to which clinics and days they cover.
Although not leaving the health centre, we would like to formally thank Dr Emerson and Dr Drury for their stewardship as partners for over 50years between them.
With NHS changes being suggested by politicians, we feel the best way to protect the practice for tomorrow, is to ensure we have strong experienced leaders. Our succession plan centers around wanting to continue to provide as stable and reliable service for patients as possible. Therefore despite an ever changing system, reduced funding year on year and ever increasing needs, our values and culture remain the same as before. We don’t expect patients to notice any significant change, bar the names on the letterhead.
