Online Patient Access

Many of Sonning Common Health Centre’s patient services are now available for you to access safely and securely online via our website, making them available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when the practice is closed. These include being able to order repeat prescriptions, book appointments and view your medical records.

The ability to see your medical record online might help you to manage your medical conditions.  You will have access to summary information regarding your results, medication, immunisations, allergies and other coded information.

There are some benefits of having access to your medical records online, but also some risks for you to consider.  Before we can grant you access to this service, we ask you to download and read this leaflet patient Access online information leaflet.

Please note that if you are applying for access to your medical records a GP will need to review your application before granting access and this can take up to four weeks.

Applying for Online Access

To book appointments online, order repeat medications, change your contact information and view your medical records you will need to complete the Patient Online Registration Form. If you have already registered for online access for booking appointments and ordering repeat prescriptions and you would like to view your medical records online as well, then you still need to apply using the Patient Online Registration Form, but you should apply just for the level of access you need.

Please call into reception and our receptionist will print off the registration form for you to complete. Bring with you two forms of ID: one photographic ID and one confirming your address (usually a utility bill, bank statement within the last 3 months).  We require ID because you are able to view confidential information and this is to ensure you are the patient requesting access.

Our receptionist will then give you a sheet with some easy to follow instructions to take home and register for online access.  Once you have registered online, a password will be emailed to you within minutes to enable you to login and start using the service immediately to book appointments and order repeat prescriptions.

Please note that if you have requested access to your medical records, this will be reviewed by a GP and could take up to four weeks to be made available.

Access to the medical records will not be granted for any patient under 16.  Please speak to our Practice Manager for further information.
